More Vindicators

The third company of the Dark Angels, gained the second Vindicator. Just one more and my battles will set off Hammer of Caliban. This formidable formation of three Vindicators, Land Raider and techmarine finally bring victory to my armies.

The first of the  models I made, and I painted some time ago. The second recently.
Now and added some weathering to both models. Light for first, and a second heavy.

  


Practically all the ornaments which do not come with a set of Space Marines Vindicator, come with a set of Dark Angels Nephilim / Blacktalon.

 

In the second model, I tried to use all the techniques known to me. Striping paint, Stroking enamels, pigments, technical paints, pigments and so.

More black paint

Hello.
The first free Sunday for a long time. All forward. Construction of the house progressed, my brother in law got married, children grow. The next summer came to an end.
It is time to show off some new acquisitions in my army of dark angels.
In a previous post I wrote about the second model exclusive for dark angels - Nephilim jetfighter / dark talon. Here are some pictures of my model, glued as Nephilim jetfighter, from different phases of painting.

Also recently I managed to buy occasionally, from a neighbor several smaller models.

Dark vengeance starter set, Deathwing knights and terminators from deathwing command.

So number of my bikes increases to 6, terminators to 15 and deathwing knigts to 10.

I decided we do not need two formations of 3 motors, only one larger. So, one sergeant of ravenwing  motorcyclists was out.

 Because in the models that I bought, was also limited chaplain Seraphicus, I decided to do conversions on a motorcycle.

  Itwas enough to cut in half the sergeant and chaplain and swap the upper halfs.

Hello.

After losing a few battles, I found that my Dark Angels need a strong ally.
It so happened that just GW announced the arrival of a new army - Adeptus Mechanikum Skitarii. As soon as possible, I preordered a Skitarii Rangers. Wonderful 10 models, with promising statistics. When the shipment arrived to me a few days later, we found that in addition to paints, brush and grass instead of the Rangers is Balistari Ironstrider. Initially I wanted to exchange incorrectly sent model, but on reflection, I decided to keep it.

       The model is great, it has a lot of options gluing and painting.
Like the other sets from the Skitarii army. I put video below from unboxing the set.

Assembling the model was also a real pleasure.
In spite of only 2 frames with parts, it was really a lot of them out there. All the time I wondered how magnetize model to use it in a number of options.
Eventually I gave up and glued it as Balistarii Ironstrider with autocannons.
Immediately primed model and performed an appropriate base using structural paste.
     
       I decided to paint the model using the advices in the tutorial presented by Awaken Realms. Magnificent studio from Poland. Heres the WIP photos.

 And here with shading and decals added.

I still have a little to paint, and already ordered Rangers are on the way.


 I looked at the codex and Skitarii seem to be a very good ally.
Ironstrider itself has enormous firepower. and the Rangers and their Arquebus are awesome. Here the stats for that Rangers special gun ...

Project Dreadnought - progress

Hello.
After sticking a few ornaments,I could put a little paint.
Previously it was primed with unidentified grey color, probably someone was preparing it for the  space wolves army. When i saw it on pictures i thought it was unpainted.


I decided to use 4 green colors to paint the armor :

 

Because i need to paint left arm, I must to cut of shield.
After painting, I decided not to stick it permanently but use the magnets.

Well, right arm was indentified as a part of Space Marine Vindicator Demolisher Cannon.
But shield isnt from Warhammer miniatures i think. It can be Lego or maybe some gundam action figures ...
I like idea to equip Dreadnought with it, but after some improvements. 
Because it was pink, i changed color to blue with Gulliman Blue glaze. Now it need only some electrical discharges ...

Dark Angels Veterans update.

Hello.
Here i want to post Veterans progress.


               I changed my attitude both for painting and gluing the dark angels,so probably I'll have to fix the rest.
My original idea was to dark angels were the dark, almost monochrome, no decorations, gold, etc.
Just Dark Angels Green and Dark Tone wash :)
But after reviewing the chapter upgrade-pack and bits remaining from the box of veterans , I decided to stick the all this wings, flags and ornaments.

            So that was some effect, I had to paint them differently too.
I opted for the much brighter Goblin Green, + Thraka Green wash, highlighted by Scorpion Green. Thats for the power armor.

            Robes, as standard Screaming Skull, Strong tone wash, drybrushed by Tyrant Skull, and brightened again Scraming Skull and White Scar.

            Generally, I meant to make it brighter, more colorful, and at the same time not to lose the Gothic mood Dark Angels, or color scheme.

 I took it that all my "Green Wing" will be the 3rd company of the master Issachar.(i need new Company master model then )

Here are some pictures of the mentioned Veterans. Still WIP.

                   And then the next issue. I do not know how to take good pictures. Because in reality models look a lot better than on the pictures. These are made  Canon Powershot FX 500 IS, on a stand with lighting behind the camera.
I need to work on, because I have this camera not long, and basically did just pictures on automatic settings ...



 
I tried to change a few settings ...

 I have still to work on it .....

Dark Angels progress

I made some progress in painting my DA army. Almost all Deathwing terminators are painted, except two from command sqad, one with glavie and one with assault cannon.

This blog is about wargames and painting miniatures. Mainly warhammer 40k, but also warhammer fantasy battle and maybe other games. I want to share my painting and modeling progress.

Crusade Against Great Beast... was the crusade provided by young Lion El Johnson, Dark Angels Primarh on planet Caliban. Well because its mainly Dark Angels blog. Mainly but not only. I have Dark Angels, Chaos Space Marines for WH 40k and Skaven for WFB. In Near future i plan to buy some Imperial Guard miniatures.

Well, thats for introduction. In this blog i want to publish my painting progress, some photo and video tutorials. Army lists, batlle reports and other  stuff. Maybe some gossip and rumors from wargaming worlds. I hope u will like it.
