Welcome.
In Poland is high summer, when the temperature is 33 degrees and there is no way to paint models. For over a two months I get tired of these Skitarii Rangers, and still two of them are not even started.
When painting, I took some pictures, so try to make them a little tutorial.
At the first, of course, we should prime model. We use for this a single color paint.
This may be the original primer, such as Citadel Imperial Primer, or any single color, matching the rest of the colors used later on the model. I decided on Abaddon Black, due to the large number of metal / mechanical parts of the model. the undercoating have done a brush, not spray so as not to flood the details.
Then, all metal and mechanical part, dry brush with brown paint. I used to this Oak Brown from the Armypainter warpaints palette, but it can be any dark brown paint.
Then the same parts, paint the same technique we only use gold paint. For me it was P3 Burnished gold, but other gold/coppeer paint are also good for this step. Just be sure to not be too bright.
Now they look like golden army soldiers from Hellboy: Golden Army :P
Time to change this. Lets paint carefully coats in red. Mephiston red is the most suitable for this.
It allows you later lighten with other reds and oranges.
The inside of the coat, paint with ivory paint.
I use p3 Jack Bone because it is thin and well covers, but citadel paints are also good for this.
In fact, we already have the basics, now details. Drybrush (again) all metals with Boltgun metal, paint eyes with bright green paint.
To to imitate flashes of electricity, I used the Temple Guard Blue. Cables on his chest, the coils on the backpack, connectors on the legs and rifle parts.
To enhance the effect, Citadel has a special line of paints - glazes. Here I used blue - Guiliman Blue. To highlight eyes, Vallejo Fluorescent green.
And that's basically the end of the tutorial, because I have no more photos. I did not make such a tutorial never before. I hope it was helpfull and you like it. Next time i take better camera, and try to explain details. At end some photos of others of my Skitarii.

Hello.
After losing a few battles, I found that my Dark Angels need a strong ally.
It so happened that just GW announced the arrival of a new army - Adeptus Mechanikum Skitarii. As soon as possible, I preordered a Skitarii Rangers. Wonderful 10 models, with promising statistics. When the shipment arrived to me a few days later, we found that in addition to paints, brush and grass instead of the Rangers is Balistari Ironstrider. Initially I wanted to exchange incorrectly sent model, but on reflection, I decided to keep it.
The model is great, it has a lot of options gluing and painting.
Like the other sets from the Skitarii army. I put video below from unboxing the set.
Assembling the model was also a real pleasure.
In spite of only 2 frames with parts, it was really a lot of them out there. All the time I wondered how magnetize model to use it in a number of options.
Eventually I gave up and glued it as Balistarii Ironstrider with autocannons.
Immediately primed model and performed an appropriate base using structural paste.
I decided to paint the model using the advices in the tutorial presented by Awaken Realms. Magnificent studio from Poland. Heres the WIP photos.
And here with shading and decals added.
I still have a little to paint, and already ordered Rangers are on the way.
I looked at the codex and Skitarii seem to be a very good ally.
Ironstrider itself has enormous firepower. and the Rangers and their Arquebus are awesome. Here the stats for that Rangers special gun ...
And here stats for Ironstrider:

Mechanicum as new army in collection ? Probably
Hello.
The winter is over, so now its just work, work and work again.
There is no time to find some nice, inexpensive models. There is no time to paint. There is no time to make a video on youtube, or to write posts.
The last painting I've done, is Techmarine and servitors. Great models made of finecast. Photos of the Techmarine presented in an earlier post. I decided to paint everything in red scheme to represent the mechanicum cult.
By the way, I think that it looks like new army appear in my collection.
I mean Adeptus Mechanicus army. Two kits are available in stores as a preorder and both look great.
Adeptus Mechanicus Ironstrider and Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii.
First one is a Mechanicum walker which come in two options. Ironstrider Ballistarius with autocannon or lasscannon and Sydonian Dragoon which is more for melee combat.
Second set is Skitarii. Mechanicum Infantry. It allows you to make a 10 man unit. 23 different heads, 25 weapon options. They can be assembled as a rangers or a vanguards.
The models look great, so assembling and painting them should be a real pleasure.
GW chose for right path, creating sets with many options and consisting of many parts. This ensures a good time during assembling, and creating your unique units.
The right choice is also improving the quality of plastic, and replace terribly expensive finecast sets (skaven jezzail team) larger sets of plastic models. Do not even want to imagine how much would cost finecast set of 10 Sisters of Battle...
Finally, a pair of images mentioned at the beginning servitors. Still WIP. Need to finish and bases. I already have an idea, but I do not have time.
